Heterotoma planicornis is a species of bug from Miridae family, the species are black coloured with green legs. Adults are only 4 millimetres (0.16 in) in length, and have some short hairs.

Heterotoma planicornis almost looks like its counterpart Heterotoma merioptera, which can make it difficult to distinguish.
