Deraeocoris ruber, better known as the Mirid Bug, is a species of bug in the Miridae family that can be found throughout Europe, except for Azores, Canary Islands, Cyprus, Faroe Islands, Finland, Iceland, Malta and parts of Russia. It is a medium-size species measuring 6-8 mm in length.

The Mirid Bug is a common plant bug of low vegetation, typically nettles and brambles.
